Product Lifecycle Management for the Better

Product and Manufacturing

As buyers of wood-based materials, we support responsible forestry and sustainable manufacturing. All of our desk tops are manufactured with durability and recyclability in mind.

Our partner facility runs a 75 kW solar system that powers CNC machines, dust extraction, and beam saws—meaning large-format desktops are produced with minimal grid energy. Corner desks consume around 8 kWh each to manufacture.

We partner with Australian leaders like Laminex and Polytec—brands recognised for their sustainability efforts and circular material innovations.

By designing with efficiency in mind, offcuts are repurposed into under-desk shelves, risers, and modular storage—extending material lifecycle and reducing waste.

Packaging

Our packaging story has evolved. We used to think more was safer. Now, we think smarter is better.

Today, our packaging approach includes:

  • Recycled cardboard in place of foam and non-recyclables
  • Commercial orders fulfilled locally to avoid unnecessary freight and packaging waste
  • A 40% reduction in packaging thickness since 2022, resulting in less recycling for customers and more efficient transport upstream

We design our packaging to balance protection with minimalism—and we’re not done yet.

Delivery and Freight

Shipping desks shouldn’t mean shipping more air. We've worked hard to optimise our freight practices for both efficiency and environmental impact.

  • Partnered with carriers who prioritise careful handling to eliminate the need for over-packing
  • Dispatched from both Brisbane and Melbourne to reduce shipping distances and emissions
  • Packaging redesign has enabled a 40% increase in container efficiency, reducing carbon output per unit

Defit Service

We know sustainability includes the end of a product’s life too. That’s why we offer a Defit Service with our delivery and installation.

If you’re upgrading your workspace, we’ll take your old desk and ensure it’s repurposed—refinished, re-homed, or recycled.

Do you use sustainable materials?

Yes. We work with certified suppliers like Laminex and Polytec and prioritise responsibly sourced, low-emission timber for our desktops and components.

What happens to packaging after delivery?

We design our packaging to be easily recyclable and made mostly from cardboard. We've reduced material thickness by 40% since 2022 to reduce waste and improve freight efficiency.

Can you recycle or reuse my old desk?

Yes—in Brisbane and Melbourne, our Defit Service collects your old desk when we deliver and installs your new one. We’ll repurpose or recycle it responsibly. Furthermore we also manufacture standing desk frames for thoughtful buyers who have a desktop that is in prime condition for repurposing.

What makes a standing desk sustainable?

Longevity with a 10yr warranty, energy-conscious manufacturing, and smart logistics. We design desks to last, use solar-powered facilities, and reduce freight emissions by shipping more efficiently.
